Mundaka Upanishad
The Mundaka Upanishad opens with a student approaching the sage Angiras with the deepest question: 'Knowing what, does one know everything?' The answer divides all knowledge into lower (Apara Vidya — sciences, Vedas, rites) and higher (Para Vidya — Brahma-Vidya). Its famous image of two birds on a tree, and the declaration 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth alone triumphs, now India's motto), make it one of the most beloved Upanishads.
